Dakota Oil Processing, LLC is a privately held, development-stage company formed for the purpose of developing, constructing, owning and operating a crude oil hydroskimming refinery near Trenton, North Dakota. The Company’s Management, Board and its advisors are:
Steve Schneider, Board Member, Chairman and CEO
Mr. Schneider has more than 30 years of management, operational, and investment experience, including serving as CEO and Director of several companies across numerous sectors. Mr. Schneider brings a depth of experience as a CEO in large, multi-national companies, as well as start-up and high growth businesses.
In combination with this leadership experience, Mr. Schneider brings extensive private equity investment and oil & gas industry experience, particularly in the shale oil regions of the US. Mr. Schneider is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Starboard Tack Capital, an investment firm with interests focused on the oil & gas and real estate sectors. Mr. Schneider is also a founder and currently serves as a Managing Partner of OilStone Logistics, LLC, a midstream crude oil marketing and logistics firm and he also serves as Managing Partner of SST Bakken Properties, LLC, a workforce lodging and real estate firm that serves the oil & gas industries.
Mr. Schneider previously served as CEO and a member of the board of directors of AcuStream, LLC, a provider of web based revenue cycle solutions for the healthcare market. He also previously served as Chairman and CEO of Ilumin Software Services, Inc. (2001-2006), where he oversaw the transformation of the Company from a start-up to a market leading provider of email compliance, archiving and litigation support applications. In October 2005, under Steve's leadership, Ilumin was sold to Computer Associates (NYSE:CA).
Prior to Ilumin, Steve served as the President and CEO of the $400 million Financial Information Division of Primark/Disclosure (now part of Thomson Financial). While there (from 1992-2000), he played a key role in transforming it into a global financial products and services company, managing multiple acquisitions and divestitures.
Steve received an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Detroit and a B.B.A. in Finance from Notre Dame.
Tristram Collins, Chief Financial and Development Officer
Mr. Collins has over 25 years of finance and operating management expertise. Mr. Collins brings a combination of his career experience as a senior investment banker at such firms as Merrill Lynch and Citigroup with his private equity and direct operating experience across numerous industry sectors including the oil & gas services sector.
Mr. Collins is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Starboard Tack Capital, a private investment firm focused primarily on the oil & gas and real estate sectors. He is also a Managing Partner of OilStone Logistics, LLC, a midstream crude oil marketing and logistics firm, and SST Bakken Properties, LLC, a workforce lodging company and real estate firm with operating properties in North Dakota and Montana related to the oil & gas activity in these regions.
Mr. Collins founded and operates through Great Point Holdings, LLC, a venture capital holding and services company based in New Jersey. Great Point is an active operational partner with its portfolio companies and provides services including financial, strategic, M&A and business development as well as early stage company incubation for startup companies. These companies include Sustainable Building Innovations, Inc., a provider of highly energy efficient, rapidly deployable buildings for the military and oil & gas workforce housing; and AcuStream, LLC, a provider of web based revenue cycle solutions for Health Care providers and hospitals.
Mr. Collins was formerly the senior operating and finance executive for the 15th largest radio company in the US and served as a board member of Opel Technologies (TSX: OPL), a large scale solar systems provider. Mr. Collins previously had a long career in investment banking during which he executed over $85 billion of transactions including tenure at Merrill Lynch and while he was a former sector head in Citigroup’s Media Investment Banking practice where he managed the firm’s relationship teams for such companies as Viacom and The Walt Disney Company.
Mr. Collins holds an AB from Dartmouth College and also an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Richard L. Bogaard
Richard L. Bogaard, Park Rapids, Minnesota, has spent the majority of this career in the food processing industry, holding positions at all corporate levels. He has extensive experience in operations, quality assurance, engineering, sales and general management. Bogaard is past president of RDO Frozen, Inc., a company that produces frozen French fries, located in Park Rapids, Minnesota. RDO is owned by the R.D. Offutt Company, Fargo North Dakota. More recently Bogaard served as General Manager of the Food Division of the R.D. Offutt Company.
Throughout his career, Bogaard has directed the design, engineering, construction and startup of many new food-processing production lines and two completely new plants. In 2006, he helped form a new company, Design Solutions & Integration, Inc. (DSI). DSI is an integration company involved in the automation of food processing, wastewater and potable water treatment plants, and the ethanol industry. He recently finished serving as the construction manager for a new potato processing plant in Boardman, Oregon for RDO/Calbee, a joint venture between R.D. Offutt Company and Calbee, a Japanese food processing company.
Mel Falcon, Vice Chairman
Mel Falcon is serving as the Vice Chair of the Company Board. He is currently the President and CEO of Aqua-Envirotech Mfg., Inc., of Williston, North Dakota, a position he has held since 1992. A founding member of the MonDak Energy Alliance, Falcon currently serves on its Board of Directors. He is a principal and a driving force behind the initial formation and success of Dakota Oil Processing. Falcon has been the Finance Officer of the Trenton Indian Service Area and was a member of the Board of Supervisors of Trenton Township, North Dakota. He also has extensive experience in water resource management.
Falcon was formerly Regional and General Manager of Fluids Control, Inc. for the U.S. Central Division and Canadian and Alaskan Divisions. In that capacity Falcon was responsible for management and oversight of the District managers of Williston, North Dakota; Gillette, Wyoming; Calgary Alberta, Canada; and Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska.
Fluids Control, Inc. was the first company in the Williston Basin to provide equipment and technology for a complete closed-loop mud processing system. Falcon designed and manufactured oilfield filtration, drilling fluid processing, soil remediation and potable water treatment systems. He also installed oilfield tank batteries, pipelines, and operated roustabout equipment. Other operations included solidification of oilfield drilling pits, recovery of waste oil, filtration and providing material for drilling and production products.
Work as a derrick hand and roughneck in the oilfields of North Dakota and Montana provided Falcon with an up-close experience in operations. He also served as a supervisor for several large construction companies in North Dakota, Montana, Hawaii, California and South Dakota.
Falcon, who was born in Trenton, has spent most of his life in North Dakota and is active in community affairs. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Minor in Accounting from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. He resides in Trenton.
Brom Lutz, Board Member, Secretary
Brom Lutz is currently the president of BEI LLC, an energy and Infrastructure company serving western North Dakota and eastern Montana, and also serves on the executive board of the MonDak Energy Alliance, a nonprofit company working to diversify and enhance the oil, gas and renewable energy industry in the Williston Basin. He has extensive experience in sales and marketing and has been directly involved in the development of the project since its inception. Lutz serves as Secretary of the Board.
Craig Pistulka, Board Member
Craig Pistulka is currently the Vice President of Design Solutions and Integration, Inc., a company of which he is also a principal. Pistulka brings extensive experience in project justification, implementation and the management of capital projects to the Company. He has extensive experience in the development and implementation of capital projects that include facility expansions and green-field facility construction in the United States and Canada.
